WebMainly affects small fibers including both somatic and autonomic. May present as an acute autonomic neuropathy. May be reversible, unlike chronic autonomic neuropathy. Sometimes also associated with significant weight loss. Treatment is aggressive pain control. Pain can be severe and refractory. Pain slowly resolves over 12 to 18 months.
